who the f*ck is

Like steppin’ out of a dusty Cadillac and into a technicolour dreamscape, Liam Keates-Ryley announces himself to the world in a blistering force of newly discovered certainty of self and sound. Mixing analogue and vintage authenticity with a sparkling approach to groove, Keates-Ryley is here to redefine what Pop music means in 2024 and beyond.

Taking cues from other artists such as Parcels, Cosmo's Midnight and Vulfpeck, his musical landscape is an ever-growing tapestry of bright lights and even brighter sounds. Delivering a musical petri dish of funk, hot-and-heavy basslines merged with drums that slap you in the face (in the best way possible), creating the perfect bed for his silky melodies.

Across a varied yet assured debut record, his effervescent compositions scratch the surface as to what Keates-Ryley is capable of. Singalongs, classic synths, super-smooth earworms to to lose yourself in with those you love… whether that is “the one” or the many.

Young by years but not by experience, Keates-Ryley has been cutting his technical teeth for some time on the Australian scene, playing piano for other hotly-tipped artists including Julian Munyard, Joel Adams, Sam McGovern and more. While in 2022,  Liam moved out of the shadows and into the bright lights with an appearance on ‘The Voice’ (S11), coached by British pop-star Rita Ora and reaching the quarterfinals in what can only be described as a moment of growth and self-realisation. In short, he learnt what he wants to give to his audience, and that is vibes en-masse.

So find the biggest disco ball you can, dust off your shiniest square-toes, plug in, tune out, and bow down to the musical prowess that is sure to live rent-free in your head from here on out. 2024 is L*K*R* season, and he's just getting started.
